Just before Thanksgiving, I posted about a little girl from our church who won't have much of a Christmas this year. I started a doll project for her, centered around a rewigged (dk. brown) AGoT #7. Here is the original post:

Chris & I talked about it, and we decided it would be best to tell Ashley's dad what was coming. We hoped it would eleviate some of his financial stress about Christmas. We also decided it would be best to give the items to him to give to her (not coming directly from me), to avoid issues with other girls at the church. On Sunday, I pulled Dad aside to speak to him before childrens' church let out. I told him simply that I had some things for Ashley that I wanted him to give to her, explained why and told him, "If she asks you if I was involved, and she probably will, just tell her that I helped you find these things." Then I told him what it was.
He cried. The church was pretty crowded, and I was trying to make it discrete. He tried to hold it together and did a pretty good job. He was just overwhelmed. He gave me a huge bear hug. He said, "I don't want to take them because of my pride, but I have to tell you... I've been praying about what to do about Christmas. I've been working only odd jobs, not nearly enough, and I didn't know if I'd have any extra at all. Then you walked over here. I guess this is the answer to my prayers, isn't it?"
I had chills all day, and, after hearing him gush for several more minutes, couldn't wait to get out to the van to tell Chris about it. Now, I cannot wait until Christmas morning when she comes to the service with her doll.
I've had two donations already, picking up a sweater, an AGT barette for Ashley, a white puppy, a brush, a dress (Felicity style), and today I bought the mini doll with the movie so that will go to Ashley's box as well. I've also had several PMs about donating books and clothes.
This isn't just making a little girl's Christmas wish come true anymore; it's making Dad's Christmas too, an answer to his prayers. If you'd like to join in, please PM me; I'd be glad to add your name to the list of those who helped Dad made Ashley's Christmas SUPER special. And, if for whatever reason you are not able to help with this project materially, I'd very much appreciate your prayers that this gift is a continued blessing; those of you who are already praying-- it's working!!!
Thanks to all of you!
Heather
